A Letter from the Founders
Welcome to Not Sorry Goods
The year 2020 was unprecedented for so many reasons. The global pandemic brought the world to a halt for much of the year, and businesses were forced to pivot or perish. For three months our store was closed and we spent much of that time at home. Inspiration struck during this time of reflection and literal pause. We realized that our homes are safe spaces and should reflect our values and dreams. That's why this year we are transcending the NSA brand to create unique, earth-friendly home goods. Our new name, Not Sorry Goods, is the natural expansion of the Not Sorry brand that you've come to know and love.
Not Sorry Apparel will still exist under the umbrella of the Not Sorry Goods family. We are still committed to providing earth-friendly garments that are affordable and inclusive. We are continually upgrading our equipment, processes and materials - including garments. This year we are exploring new sources that are even more sustainable, soft & varied. And we are committed to being transparent about our processes & sourcing through educational videos and social media content.
Growing our Circular Economy
At the beginning of the pandemic, we pivoted to manufacturing PPE for front line health care workers. Being able to shift our business to manufacturing essential supplies made us consider what else we could make in-house out of these fabric scraps. It was so rewarding to re-use discarded fabric to create something out of nothing, and this idea inspired us to develop new products made out of our recycled materials. We will continue to think critically about our processes and develop sustainable solutions that contribute to a circular economy.
Do Good, Not Sorry
This simple mantra underscores our mission at Not Sorry - do good things for others & leave the earth a better place.
This year we are expanding our mission & philanthropic efforts. We are action-driven, civic-minded women and giving back is essential to our personal value systems. "Do Good, Not Sorry" is our public decree of our intentions to give back to our local community in an equitable & mindful way.
We believe social responsibility is inextricably tied to sustainable development within local communities. When we spend money with our neighbors or at local businesses, those resources stay & circulate in our community.
Our 2021 intention is to build on our community investment initiatives from last year. Last year, we donated over $4,000 to important community programs that align with our values, namely The Woodward Foundation (racial & social justice), Detroit Phoenix Center (homelessness as a humanity issue), First Step (women's issues, domestic issues, family & identity issues), & Palmer Park Clean Up initiative (environmental justice & green initiatives).
By publicly sharing our intentions, we hope that our community will help keep us accountable and that our actions have a measurable impact. Giving back is a big part of our business and a daily reminder of how we can use our platform to do good in our community. Together we can make small incremental changes that have a big impact. And we can't do it without you! We are blessed to have your support and appreciate every share, every smile and every sale.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We love you!
