Today we remember the tragic events of Pulse nightclub. Pulse was a popular gay dance nightclub in Orlando, Florida. Early on the day of June 12, 2016, 49 people were shot and killed and 50 others were injured. The shooting occurred during the club's Latin Night, and many of those killed were Latino and LGBTQ+. This was one of the deadliest mass shootings at that time. Today it is still one of the deadliest mass shootings towards the LGBTQ+ community. June 12th is the day to remember everyone who was affected from this horrific incident. Every year, people gather at the memorial to place flowers and to pay their respects. The victims of the Pulse shooting will be honored across the state of Florida. Sadly, hate crimes like this still happen in our society and it's part of the reason we scream Queer Not Sorry. We're here to amplify the voice of others and we stand in solidarity with our LGBTQ+ community.
